Want to study in Australia? Here’s all you need to know about applying for a student visa.

An Australian student visa allows you to enter the country if you wish to commence your international education in Australia. On the whole, it is an all-inclusive permit which is responsible for all the benefits you can avail of being an international student in Australia. This includes a consent to live (for the duration of your course), study, avail international student rights, indulging in part-time work activities and applying for a scholarship in Australia etc.

In order to get a student visa, it is pre-requisite to have an offer letter or a letter of acceptance from an Australian university. For any reasons if you choose to end the course your visa was based on, or postpone your studies, your visa would get incapacitated or invalid. 

You will also have to maintain a viable amount of bank balance during your stay in the country as financial proof, you can find the minimum requirements stated in your student visa.

The type of your student visa will depend on your goals and the kind of course or study type you want to undertake in Australia. Remember, you must lodge your visa application 12 weeks prior to the date of commencement of your study program.

Visa application form 
Visa application fee
Valid passport
Four passport-sized photographs
Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment
English language proficiency proof, such as the IELTS Test Report Form 
Academic and work experience documents
Statement of purpose
Evidence of financial ability (tuition fees, living expenses, expenses for dependents, return airfare).

Students under the age of 18 years will need to submit parental consent as an additional document.
