Career options in Australia after 12th Science

The decision of undergraduate course admission can be overwhelming for most of the students. With the whirlpool of doubts and advice coming from everywhere, a student is bound to get confused. If you are a parent or a student, it is strongly recommended that an education counselor be consulted before taking any decision.

During the process of making this decision, parents as well as students forget to consider the value of an overseas degree. The benefits of studying abroad are in plenty. Some of them include quality education, better job prospects, exposure, and lifestyle, studying in a cross-cultural environment, and being independent. While there are a lot of destinations for education, Australia has become one of the most preferred ones among international students. The high education and living standards have been one of the biggest driving forces for this. Along with a good, students can easily transform their career prospects here.

There are numerous career options for all students whether they are from science, commerce or humanities. In this article, we will discuss about the career options that science students have. While a lot of students opt for science, they are often confused with the career options they have from there.
While the most common options are engineering for mathematics students and medicine for biology students, there are some other options too that can be considered by science students. Let’s take a look at some conventional as well as unconventional courses that you can choose for your graduation.

If you are a Science student with Biology, you can take up either 3-year courses or 5-year courses.

Some of the 3/4-year courses that can be considered are:
Bachelors in Engineering (Biotech/Biomedical/Agriculture/Environment)
B.Sc. in Agriculture/Biotechnology/Food and Nutrition
Bachelors in Pharmacy

5-year courses include the following:

Medicine
Nursing
Physiotherapy
Integrated Masters courses

If you are a Science student with Maths, you can consider going for the following:

Bachelors in any of your core subject (Physics, Chemistry, Maths, etc)
Engineering
Architecture
Integrated masters in engineering or science
Pilot Training
Bachelors of Computer Application

Other fields that can be explored include cyber security, fashion technology, B.Sc. in Hotel Management or even M.Sc. in Law. If you somehow do not connect with the above stated fields, you could also switch your key area of study to something creative. You may go for fine arts, graphic designing, or even mass communication, all of which have a huge scope in the current market. You could become a UI/UX designer or a copywriter. Another advantage of these courses is that there is always a scope of switching to freelancing in the long term. These courses can also be chosen by students with commerce or humanities background.
